What are check-ups & exams?
Regular dental check-ups let our dentists spot and treat problems early — from decay to gum disease and oral-health concerns. Most adults are seen every 6–12 months.

Regular check-ups are the simplest way to keep your teeth and gums healthy and to catch small problems while they’re still easy to treat. At Hillsborough Family Dental Centre, on Victor Street just off Langsett Road, your dentist checks your teeth, gums and soft tissues, and may take X-rays if they’re needed. This comes under NHS Band 1 (£27.90), which also covers a scale and polish where appropriate.
Most adults are seen every six to twelve months, depending on their dental health, and your dentist will suggest an interval that’s right for you. Keeping up with routine visits is well worth it, especially given how hard NHS dental places can be to find across Sheffield.

On the NHS, this is a Band 1 treatment — £27.90.
Band 1 covers: Check-up, diagnosis, X-rays, scale & polish. Whatever treatment you receive within a single band, you pay just one charge per course of treatment.
